A LIFE ROOTED IN ARTISTRY, PASSION & STYLE
Breakfast at 'The Wolseley'
If A. A. Gill writes a book about it ...well... then, its a must.
The Wolseley oozes the feel of 'the grand European tradition', almost like an old world Viennese grand cafe, but with the flair of an old London establishment.
I love every detail - the heavy silverware, thick creamy linen, espresso trays (including water), serving viennoiserie in the 'Salon', first class French butter and freshly baked bread speak of a service era when ladies were called 'Modom'.
I always make sure to breakfast there at least once when I visit London and now there is a sister establishment : The Delaunay, I hear its very Madmen, perfect for long boozy lunches with comfort food.
And of course another excuse to get called 'Modom'.
